About Natalie Herrera

Who I am

  • I plan surprise parties like a four star general. Methodical. Decisive. Discrete. You’ll never see it coming.
  • I love nutrition and fitness, although it wasn’t always like that. I used to be one of those types who would scurry into the kitchen during the wee hours of the night to eat ‘fat pills’ like chocolate, soda, and bread until I decided to do something about it. I studied all I could about nutrition and fitness, I did the Tapout training program (LINK) and most importantly, I controlled my diet. With my mom’s help, who’s a nutritionist, I began to create the app RetoFit (LINK) and we started a fitness and nutrition blog (LINK) to help those who want to keep a healthy life style.

Where I’m from

  • It’s Colombia, NOT Columbia. Colombia is a country; Columbia is a university and a brand. I’m not trying to be rude, I’m just saving you from the angry looks you’re going to get if you write that. Besides that, we’re very friendly and we’ll find a way to make you feel welcome.
  • Designers don’t sleep. Designers need coffee. Colombia produces coffee. Therefore, Colombia is a great place to work!.
  • The saying in England is that if you don’t like the weather, wait ten minutes. In Bogotá, wait twenty.

Who I am

  • My dad is an electric engineer and is one of those super intelligent and logical types. He inspired me to study languages, read a lot, and of course, programming.
  • I’m not a professional photographer but I love photography. My next purchase will be an EOS 5D MARK XX—barter is another way to pay for my services. Hint!
  • What I hate: People who make too much noise when they eat, or when someone arrives late and blames the traffic. “What!? You’ve lived in a city of eight million people for all your life and the traffic is a surprise for you!?”
